Job Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with relevant food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, ISO).
- Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols, including incoming raw material inspection, in-process quality checks, and finished product testing, to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the manufacturing processes, facilities, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Lead investigations into quality incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address issues effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, procurement, and logistics, to resolve quality-related issues and implement process improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality programs, including vendor qualification, audits, and performance monitoring, to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on quality assurance principles, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyze key quality metrics and performance indicators, preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings to senior management and drive decision-making.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to food quality and safety, implementing best practices and innovative solutions as appropriate.
- Support customer audits and certifications, providing documentation and information as needed to demonstrate compliance with quality standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customers, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain certifications.
- Participate in new product development projects, providing input on quality requirements, process feasibility, and risk assessment.
- Handle any other tasks related to his role.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, with specific experience in sauces manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, FDA regulations, and GMPs.
- Experience in implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality testing methods and equipment, including sensory evaluation, microbiological testing, and analytical testing.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
