Job Description
Industry: Steel Fabrication – Pressure Vessels
Job Purpose:
To develop, monitor, and control production schedules for the fabrication of pressure vessels to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed production plans and schedules based on customer orders, project timelines, and available capacity.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on job priorities and material availability.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, delays, or resource constraints.
• Prepare and issue job orders and fabrication schedules to the workshop teams.
• Ensure that welding, machining, assembly, and testing processes are properly sequenced and scheduled.
• Track progress of jobs in real-time and report delays or deviations to stakeholders.
• Work closely with quality control and safety departments to ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, or applicable codes and standards.
• Optimize use of raw materials, workforce, and equipment to minimize waste and reduce lead times.
• Analyze production data and generate reports for management regarding performance, efficiency, and delivery compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in production planning within a heavy fabrication or pressure vessel manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes such as welding, rolling, cutting, and NDT.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API standards, and other relevant codes is preferred.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and planning software (e.g., Odoo, Microsoft Project).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
