Job Description
Kano State government of Nigeria wish to hire Egyptian expatriate with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare engineering drawings and specifications for electrical installations in public buildings, roads, and infrastructure projects.
- Supervise electrical works on-site to ensure compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
- Evaluate and maintain public electrical systems including transformers, substations, switchgears, and backup generators.
- Conduct energy audits and recommend energy-saving measures for government facilities.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems in new or rehabilitated government projects.
- Prepare project reports, technical documentation, and progress updates for senior management.
- Inspect and certify electrical works for quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in developing technical specifications for tenders and procurement of electrical materials.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) standards and National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior engineers and technicians.
Job Requirements
- Proven expertise as an electrical engineer
- Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
- Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
- Problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A degree in Electrical Engineering; MSc is a plus
