Job Description
To ensure that the Organization complies with Internal STM Policies, Guidelines, Code of Conduct, & applicable laws, & regulations (in liaison with relevant functions with technical expertise), through developing, & monitoring STM Compliance Program, as well as providing guidance/ support to the relevant stakeholders within the different business sectors about STM Compliance program, ensuring adherence to which, & promoting an ethical culture.
- Providing guidance to different departments regarding the development of STM set of policies and procedures, monitoring progress, & supporting the continuous improvement of them to ensure an up-to-date set is maintained, through frequent reviews/ alignment.
- Conduct Compliance audits/ reviews of the country compliance program covering local policies and procedures, define & report gaps/ violations to Compliance, Internal Controls, & QA Director, along with recommendations of remediation actions.
- Follow up the status of recommended controls/ remediation actions defined for areas of improvements/ gaps noted, to mitigate the relevant risks according to the target dates of closure agreed with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead processes continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with relevant functional owners, & Internal Controls Manager, considering emerging risks, & ensuring proper segregation of conflicting duties.
- Lead the development of a whistleblower program/ tool and manage incident reporting channels.
- Develop, & maintain Company Compliance Risk Register in alignment with the Internal Controls Manager, & relevant stakeholders, ensure frequent updates of which.
- Provide training/ awareness sessions to the relevant parties about STM Policies, Code of Conduct, & sharing of best practices.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding compliant ways of working both for current processes & future initiatives under discussion, liaise with Legal & relevant department heads as needed to ensure full alignment, & compliance with both Local Laws & Internal guidelines.
- Monitoring regulatory developments relevant to the company’s operations in coordination with the Legal Department, updating management/ providing training to staff - as needed.
- Coordinate with Legal, & Regulatory bodies during audits, inspections, or investigations (internal/ external).
Job Requirements
- Hold a professional qualification in accounting
- 10 years of experience in compliance, internal audit, & external audit functions, mixed background is preferable.
- Experience in Real Estate field is preferable.
- A clear, concise communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills.
- A high level of personal drive and initiative.
- Ability to document and map processes end to end.
- Ability to add value in business process enhancement initiatives.
- High analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced PC skills in all Microsoft applications.
