Job Description

Job Summary:
The IT Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for a variety of hardware, software, network, and security-related issues. This position requires expertise in managing and configuring firewalls, firebase, network switches, as well as diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network components
  • Monitor and maintain the organization's firewall and firebase configurations, ensuring optimal performance and security
  • Manage and configure network switches, including VLAN setup, port configuration, and troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware problems, including troubleshooting and repairing desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices
  • Install, configure, and update software applications, operating systems, and security patches
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the proper use of IT systems and applications
  • Maintain detailed documentation and provide comprehensive reports on IT support activities
  • Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement process improvements and technology upgrades
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the IT industry

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an IT Technical Support or IT Helpdesk role
  • Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls, including experience with leading firewall solutions (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Proficient in setting up and maintaining firebase platforms, such as Google Firebase or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Firebase
  • Strong knowledge of network switches, including configuration, troubleshooting, and VLAN management
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and find creative solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Certification in relevant IT domains (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) is a plus
