Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist in the dental treatment of patients to include seating patients, providing dentist with instruments and equipment, and mixing filling and impression materials; chart examination and treatment results on patient's dental record. Prepares patients for oral surgery and assist surgeon during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to include preparing surgical trays, setting up intravenous equipment, taking vital signs, removing sutures, applying and removing archbars, monitoring EKG equipment, and providing surgeon with required instruments and equipment. Observes patient during surgical procedure and alert surgeon to sudden changes in patient's condition; administer oxygen and other emergency procedures as required. Ensures that instruments, supplies and equipment required for specific dental procedures are cleaned, sterilized and assembled. Assists in the preparation of cast models by preparing required materials, taking impression of teeth and pouring and trimming models. Takes, develops and mounts intra and extra oral radiographs used in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Records treatment results on patient's dental record; instruct patients in the care of teeth and appliances; provide instructional materials as required. Schedules and confirms appointments, greets patients and processes dental records as required; requisition supplies and equipment. Performs routine maintenance on instruments and equipment. Keeps track for the patient’s balances. Coordinates with dental reception for the monitoring of fees collection. Manages paper works, filing receipt issuing… etc Manages and prepares instruments for sterilization. Performs daily maintenance for the dental unit, cleaning of filters, oiling hand pieces and flushing suction hoses. Reports any defective equipment to the Director of Dental Department. Follows the rules of infection control very strictly. Keeps the ER cart always ready for use and performs daily check of its medicines and inspect their expiry dates and reports to the Director of Dental Department for any shortages. Checks the dental stock room. Checks the shortages in the restorative dental materials and reports that to the Director. Takes and process x-rays. Assist the dentist at chair-side with the delivery of instruments and preparation of dental materials.JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS : Education: Diploma degree or higher.
