Job Description
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Cairo is seeking an experienced programme adviser to join its development cooperation team. We are looking for an excellent team player, with a flexible and positive attitude, to work in a forward thinking, modern and motivating work environment. The main responsibility of the programme adviser will be day-to-day management and follow-up of the Embassy’s development project portfolio. Relevant tasks include assessing project documents, follow-up on project implementation, communicating with development partners, drafting documents, and preparing meetings. Additionally, the adviser is expected to keep up to date on local developments in relevant sectors; gather and analyse information; prepare background notes, reports, and social media content; plan and organize field visits; and other tasks as required.

Starting date will be as soon as possible. There is a three months probationary period. The position is full time (100%), with 37,5 working hours per week. Employment contract will be governed by Egyptian law, however income tax shall be paid to Norway as per the Agreement of Avoidance of Double Taxation between the Kingdom of Norway and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Job Requirements
- Advanced university degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Development studies, International relations).
- Relevant work experience from government, international development organizations or agencies, civil society or private sector.
- Project and grant management experience in the field of development cooperation.
- Expertise in financial issues related to project and grant management will be valued.
- Fluency in speaking/reading/writing English and Arabic is required.
- Good drafting skills as well as computer literacy, including good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
