Job Summary:
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for managing the organization’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves overseeing fleet activities, optimizing vehicle utilization, and coordinating with drivers and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and utilized efficiently.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for fleet operations.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Schedule and monitor regular maintenance and repairs for all vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Driver Coordination:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- Provide training and support to drivers on safe driving practices and vehicle operation.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards regarding fleet operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles and drivers.
Budget Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the fleet budget, monitoring expenses related to fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize fleet performance.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, and utilization rates.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in fleet operations.
Communication:
- Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless operations related to transportation and logistics.
- Respond to inquiries and issues related to fleet operations in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or a related role.
- Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in fleet management software, and knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in fleet management or logistics may be preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations.
