Job Description

As an Estimation Engineer specializing in aluminium and glass, you will play a crucial role in our project bidding and estimation process. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs, materials, and labor required for aluminium and glass projects, ensuring competitive bids and successful project execution. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and understanding of industry standards will contribute to our continued success in delivering exceptional architectural solutions.

Job Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A degree specifically focused on architectural engineering or materials science is advantageous.

Professional Experience:

Proven track record (typically 3-5 years) in estimation and costing within the construction or manufacturing industry, with specific experience in aluminium and glass projects preferred.
Experience with estimating software and tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CostX, or similar programs.
Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and regulations related to aluminium and glass installations.

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in quantitative analysis, cost estimation, and material take-off processes.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents to accurately estimate project costs.
Knowledge of different types of aluminium profiles, glass types, and their applications in construction.

Analytical Abilities:

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to perform cost calculations, analyze data, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate and thorough estimation documentation.

Communication Skills:

Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Ability to articulate technical information clearly and concisely.

Project Management Skills:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Understanding of project lifecycle and milestones to accurately estimate project timelines and resource requirements.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to project success through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Proactive in seeking input from technical experts and stakeholders to refine estimates and proposals.

Capability to identify potential challenges in project specifications or designs and propose viable solutions.
