Job Description

Job Title: Production Scheduler

Department: Operations / Production
Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

To plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities across CNC, assembly, and quality departments in alignment with job order priorities, machine capacity, material availability, and delivery deadlines. The Production Scheduler plays a key role in ensuring efficient resource utilization, minimizing downtime, and supporting real-time tracking within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain production schedules based on customer delivery dates, machine capacity, material availability, and manpower.
  • Coordinate with CAD/CAM engineers, production supervisors, and QC to align routing and priorities for each job.
  • Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules dynamically to reflect delays, rework, or changes in routing (forward or backward steps).
  • Input and update production data in the Google Sheets-based MES and ensure real-time visibility for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure jobs are routed accurately, including handling rework or tool-change scenarios without losing visibility.
  • Work closely with QC to avoid bottlenecks and track parts that require inspection or feedback.
  • Identify conflicts or inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve lead time and on-time delivery.
  • Track and report key scheduling metrics, including schedule adherence, idle time, and job delays.
  • Support cross-functional communication and maintain alignment between planning, production, and quality.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in production scheduling, preferably in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, assembly operations, and quality control processes.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing planning concepts (lead time, bottleneck, routing, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with MES systems is a big plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make real-time adjustments.
  • Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mold-making industries.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Production Flow Optimization.
  • Experience with custom MES platforms, especially built on Google Sheets or similar tools.
