Job Description

The Tendering and Pricing Engineer is responsible for the preparation, submission, and management of competitive tenders and pricing models in response to client requests. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and project management skills to develop optimal pricing strategies and ensure that proposals meet both client expectations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Management:
  - Review and understand tender documents, specifications, and requirements.
  - Coordinate with various departments (engineering, procurement, legal) to gather necessary information for tender submissions.
  - Develop comprehensive tender proposals that include technical, commercial, and financial aspects.

2. Pricing Strategy:
  - Conduct market analysis to determine competitive pricing strategies and forecast profitability.
  - Create detailed cost models and price breakdowns that reflect the project's scope, risks, and resources.
  - Ensure pricing strategy aligns with overall business objectives and market conditions.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
  - Engage with project managers, technical teams, and clients to clarify requirements and define deliverables.
  - Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and assess proposals.
  - Present pricing strategies and bid proposals to management for approval and make adjustments as necessary based on feedback.

4. Risk Assessment:
  - Identify potential risks and challenges associated with tender submissions and pricing.
  - Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks and incorporate contingency plans where necessary.

5. Documentation:
  - Maintain accurate records of submitted tenders, pricing data, and relevant correspondence for future reference and audits.
  - Prepare and present reports on tendering activities and performance metrics to senior management.

6. Continuous Improvement:
  - Analyze the outcomes of submitted tenders to identify areas of improvement.
  - Stay informed about industry trends, and changes in regulations that may affect pricing and bidding strategies.
  - Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge in tendering and pricing.


 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. 

A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Project Management Professional (PMP)) is an advantage.
 
- Experience:
 - 5-8 years of experience in tendering, pricing, or cost estimation within Architecture Engineering
 - Proven track record of successful tender submissions and pricing strategies.

- Skills:
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 - Proficiency in financial modeling and pricing software/tools.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 - Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
 - Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with occasional travel to project sites or client meetings as required.
- Flexibility to work extended hours if necessary to meet tight deadlines.
