Job Description
- Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and models in compliance with relevant codes and project specifications.
- Lead the development and checking of shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and other construction documents.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure integration of structural systems.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior structural engineers and draftsmen within the technical office.
- Review design changes, RFI responses, and site queries related to structural works.
- Conduct value engineering studies to optimize material usage and structural systems.
- Attend design coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
- Ensure all structural designs are implemented correctly and efficiently on-site.
- Maintain records of design approvals, revisions, and documentation control.
- Stay updated with latest codes, software tools, and construction technologies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 8+ years of experience in structural design and technical office roles, preferably on large-scale projects.
- Proficient in design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit Structure.
- Strong knowledge of international and local structural codes (e.g., ACI, BS, ECP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic.
