Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for the leadership, operation and staffing of crews for the daily production of (Particleboard-MDF-OSD-Plywood-Hardboard-Softwood), Production Manager is responsible for ensuring safe operation of equipment, quality of (Particleboard-MDF-OSD-Plywood-Hardboard-Softwood), achieving production targets, and ensuring that operator-level maintenance is performed on all equipment at a very high standard. To that end, these responsibilities include but are not limited to:
What you will do:
- Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning manufacturing requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering headcount and budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Direct and coordinate production and labor to gain margin improvement
- Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyze production, quality control, or other operational reports to detect production problems
- Ensure assigned departments perform tasks as outlined in Job Instruction Breakdowns, Quality Specifications, and Standard Operating Practices.
- Manage all daily production activities of the Mill
- Mentor assigned personnel and promote efficiency and build leadership and team skills
- Direct process improvements in the work area to gain efficiencies
- Communicate effectively with all team members and ensure miscommunications are minimized
- Coordinate with other senior staff members on personnel, safety, finance, and purchasing issues, looking for ways to increase and enhance all functional areas
- Work with Engineering to improve equipment up-time, capability and reliability through the passionate facilitation of TPM initiatives and the AWC SEE (Strategic Equipment Excellence) program as well as all five phases of Six-Sigma improvement or the Defining, Measuring, Analyzing, Improving, and Controlling of equipment related problems
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years of manufacturing experience; wood related and wood finishing preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
- Eligible to legally work in the Jeddah-KSA.
- Must have experience in wood finishing, material flows and inventory management, continuous improvement practices, and process analysis.
- Must possess the ability to learn new concepts and pass the knowledge along to others in the classroom and through practical experience.
- Must be a highly energized and self-motivated individual with experience successfully leading teams to implement change.
- Must possess exemplary communication skills.
- Should possess excellent personal computer skills in a network environment; Microsoft Office experience preferred-Outlook-Word-Excel.
- Must possess strong planning/organization & time management skills.
- Prior Lean certification and experience in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles is a MUST
