About the Job
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Category, supply market, and the category value chain
  • Continuously align with the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and build preferred partnerships with key constituents
  • DMF-VS for Category are built, socialized, challenged and refined so that optionality, risks, key drivers and best total cost of ownership (TCO) recommendations are clearly understood (Deep critical and economic thinking).
  • Agreements are in place and continuously reviewed to ensure they align with ways of working/right expectations.
  • Information, Data and “best” Knowledge is relentlessly sought, captured, shared, challenged, documented and stored within SharePoint (Knowledge networks and benchmarking in action)
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team (CFT) to efficiently and effectively support Sourcing/Category Management and Quality Improvement
  • Assure Meaningful Metrics/KPIs are developed, updated and shared/communicated
  • Work with suppliers to ensure flawless new launches at the required volume rate, applying sound quality methodologies.
  • Conduct Quality System Audits on potential suppliers using the Company’s auditing format and approach
  • Conduct Process Audits on current suppliers using a Company’s auditing format and approach
  • Develop improvement plans with selected suppliers and verify execution and closure of action plans
  • Support technical reviews on new products to ensure all technical requirements are met and understood.
  • Vet new technology partners and provide development as needed
  • Assist Company plants with issues that arise from sub-suppliers including problem resolution using disciplines such as 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa Diagrams as problem-solving techniques.
  • Perform onsite verification as required.
  • Verify before the closure of any sub-supplier issues any appropriate costs to the Company are recovered.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality or related field
  • S. Degree in a related business or technical discipline
  • Experience in the glass making process is a plus
  • Experience in category management (3+ years), working knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier quality systems
  • Demonstrates excellent negotiation skills, problem-solving ability, and strategy expertise.
  • Experience in problem-solving techniques as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Multi-lingual capability. (English, Arabic are absolute requirements)
  • Ability to travel local/National minimum 2-3 times per month including periodic International travel
