Lipton is Unilever’s largest brand in turnover and global presence and is a key component in PepsiCo’s beverage portfolio. Lipton is a truly global brand and operates in two distinct areas; leaf tea and Ready to Drink Tea (RTDT). The RTDT team operates as a separate entity to Unilever and PepsiCo as part of a joint venture organization.

A role in Pepsi Lipton is unique experience that will allow you to rapidly develop and will add value to your career. It is a Joint Venture between Unilever and PepsiCo to manufacture and sell Lipton Iced Tea and operates across the globe. As a company in its own right, the joint venture has its own board of directors. Whilst in constant contact with its parent companies, it runs as a separate entity on a day to day basis.

As a global company the variation in countries, bottlers and manufacturing sites makes this a very exciting place to work. We have 5 regional organizations operating across North America, Europe & SSA, Latin America, Asia Middle East and North Africa ex Greater China & Greater China and we are constantly breaking new ground with launches into white markets.

Working in the joint venture is one of the few opportunities to work in a small, entrepreneurial company within a larger framework of Unilever and PepsiCo. It is a unique opportunity to work across many areas of the marketing agenda and make a direct impact to the global business.

Please Note: This is a Location Flexible role within Lebanon or Egypt. The incumbent selected for the role will continue to be based out of their current location.

The role of the Franchise / Channel Development Manager is to support the JV growth agenda focused on Lebanon & Jordan but also to support the Franchise Senior manager on Gulf markets and unlocking other MENA markets through channels specific initiatives to enable delivery of top and bottom-line targets. Business size in 2019 will be Volume 3mm cases (1mm Lebanon/Jordan), System Revenue $20mm ($8mm Lebanon/Jordan), Profit $3mm ($1.5mm Lebanon/Jordan) with a huge transformation agenda in MENA and Category development leading to high double-digit future growth potential.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

The role supports the business development activities across the Gulf states, Lebanon and Jordan). Specifically:

  • Work closely with bottling partners to ensure proper execution of AOP marketing & sales activities through frequent market visits.
  • Full coordination with PepsiCo franchise teams to ensure focus and support behind brand Lipton.
  • Work with bottlers teams in development of specific channels initiatives and ensure implementation as per set standards
  • Support the efficient utilization of funds (COOP, A&M, STB) by tracking spend against plan by market
  • Support the Franchise Senior Manager with periodic data collection and analysis which is key to track performance vs plan and act upon for corrective actions
  • Support the development of markets specific AOPs
  • Ensure the development of the brand in each of the markets within the guard rails set globally.
  • Support the local teams (local marketers) in the execution of the AOP and delivery of key brand & financials goals
  • Drive the commercial agenda for the JV with bottlers supported by Franchise Senior Manager and leveraging the PepsiCo team where available (Franchise operations).
  • Support joint planning & processes with Bottlers around Strategic Plan, AOP and Push/Pull calendars

Business Skills

  • Franchise / distributor operation experience
  • Ability to drive business through channel-specific developments
  • Good business acumen
  • Brand Management (particularly NCB) and Channel marketing with breadth in Customer / Customer marketing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to turn marketing strategies into winning operational plans
  • Proven ability to manage business remotely through close follow-ups and tracking of KPIs
  • Communication and presentation skills
