Job Description
- Maintain adequate stock of drilling fluid products on rig Site.
- Formulate and implement the following programs: Mud mixing and testing, Hydraulics,
- Completion, Packer Fluid, Wellbore Clean up and corrosion control.
- Pilot testing mud.
- Achieve effective chemical applications and cost effective mud system,
- Maintain fluid parameters as per mud program through effective chemical application in consultation with client designated fluids supervisor
- Assist the drilling crew in monitoring & evaluate the solids control equipment on rig site to ensure achieving a cost effective performance of all solids control equipment on rig site.
- Preparation of daily Mud for each well along with a detailed technical and cost evaluation.
- Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly mud chemicals Inventory Reports.
- Preparation of Rig site weekly and Monthly Mud Lab Chemicals & Equipment Inventory
- Completing the drilling fluid report and records on actual data, conduct performance analysis and highlight problems immediately after each job.
- Monitoring rig site for mud materials stock level and ensuring maintaining the required mud materials stock to secure wellsite drilling operation.
- Co-ordinate with the drilling supervisor and well-site Drilling Engineer in ordering of mud chemicals and maintaining adequate stock inventory enough to cover the operations demands
- Assist the Drilling Supervisor and well-site Drilling Engineer during the cement job, i.e. checking the cement slurry weight, tanks volumes and mud returns.
- Monitoring, sampling and accurate reporting on daily basis Oil and Grease content pH for waste drilling cuttings & mud discharge.
- Supervise the treatment & pH neutralization for waste drilling cuttings & mud discharge.
- To immediately report any concerns relating to any change in mud parameters
Responsible for:
- Advising rig personnel in mixing area to use appropriate personal protective equipment’s.
- Ensuring all mud testing activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ensuring all hazardous testing chemicals are correctly labeled, safely stored and Attend
- QP/Drilling contractor safety meetings and advise on all HSE matters handled
- Taking part in risk assessments relevant to drilling fluids.
- Contribute to safety meetings onsite, giving presentations about the fluids and chemicals being used; give toolbox and pre-tour meeting on chemicals safety.
- To act as a member of the Company’s ‘Safety and Health Committee’ and actively:
- Participate in Scomi and Client SOC systems.
- Reporting any hazard, minor/ major accident or near miss to QHSE.
- Ensure Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are up to date and easy to locate.
- Assist Company’s and Client’s representative in carrying out the internal or external audits to identify and improve safety at work site.
- Afford Leadership to the Second D. F. Engineer, Rig site mixing and D. F. products handling crew
Job Requirements
- 7-10 years working experience, preferable experience in Aramco.

B. Sc. Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical & Chemical Engineering.
Geology, Chemistry or physics.
Candidates Should Have the following :
- Graduation Certificate: (English version) authenticated by Saudi Embassy.
- Experience Certificates: from ALL previous employer as a mud engineer.
- Qualification Certificate: (Basic Mud School).
- Qualification Certificate: (Advanced Mud School).
- Basic & Advanced Mud School Curriculum: authenticated based on API RP-13L.
- Valid passport copy.
