Genco Ltd. was established in 1988 in Alexandria, Egypt by an Italian engineer. Duties and responsibilities:
- Observing and monitoring geotechnical investigations comprising test boring, cone penetrometer test soundings, test pits and installation of piezometers, wells and geotechnical instrumentation.
- Obtaining information from geotechnical instrumentation.
- Developing laboratory and field testing programs.
- Compiling and evaluating collected field and laboratory test data; preparing exploration plans information summaries and exploration logs.
- Performing geotechnical analysis addressing: slope stability, settlement and consolidation, surcharge and ground improvement, shallow foundations (mats and footings), drilled piers; and, pile design (compressive, lateral and uplift capacities).
- Assisting with the preparation of written geotechnical reports; develop written narratives.
- Observing and monitor earthwork and compaction, excavation support, footing subgrade preparation, drilled shaft and pile installation.
- Designing and analyzing of shallow and deep foundations for highway bridges and major hydraulic structures, stability and seepage analyses of earthen embankments, settlement estimates, lateral earth pressure assessments for retaining walls, and ground improvement assessments for complex sites.
- Preparing geotechnical foundation construction reports
- Planning practical and effective methods for promoting quality, health, safety (QHS) and safe working practices.
- Understanding and executing the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards in the Keller.
- Fully adhere to the Keller’s QHSE Policy requirements throughout the duty-hours.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering (strongly preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience with geotechnical investigations and construction inspection experience
- Office experience with investigation coordination and assisting in geotechnical report writing
- Ideally will have experience with computer programs including LPILE, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, PLAXIS, AutoCAD, gINT and Microsoft Office
Accountability:
He / She shall assist senior geotechnical engineers and project managers in planning and overseeing subsurface explorations and performing analyses for transportation, water resources and other types of projects.
