Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This includes managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards, supervising accounting staff, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of financial periods.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with senior management.
- Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Supervise and develop accounting team members through performance management and training.
- Improve financial processes and systems for better efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure tax compliance (e.g., VAT, income tax, payroll tax) and timely submission of required filings.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
