Job Description
Job Purpose:
Work closely with all the Operator (either commercial manager or Operations Manager) to liaise between the principal/ shipper/ consignee and the boarding team working in ground with the purpose of delivering high quality service with the highest profitable margins.
Operational Role:
• Cooperate with boarding team to ensure Safina’s services are rendered up to principal’s satisfaction
• Ensure on ground operations are done efficiently in accordance to business plan and objectives for operations team.
• Relay requirements from Principal/ shipper/ consignee to boarding team
• Maintain good relationship with principals, authorities, and suppliers.
• Assist Operations & BDM in all ships under their management.
• Follow up on vendors whenever external quotations are required and recommend profitable price rates to the main operator (commercial or tramp managers)
• Represent Safina to all Egyptian authorities when needed.
• Ensure excellent communication with all internal and external parties.
• Ensure effective control of operational cost.
• Assure smooth communications with all parties including owners, receivers, master, protective agents, authorities, customs.
Reporting & Documentation:
• Ensure all customs documentation relative to vessel and cargo clearances are in place.
• Provide data to accounting team to issue the financial reports and DA’s
• Prepare reports on actual on ground operations for management/ clients
• Update company IT platform (IST) with all operational records.
• Accomplish any other tasks that may be assigned to him by management.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in Logistics/ shipping agencies is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferably in Logistics)
- Additional certification.
