Job Description
- Prepare customs documentation to ensure compliance with all domestic and international import and export regulations.
- Coordinate and manage the customs clearance process for both imports and exports.
- Complete required customs documents, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping declarations.
- Accurately classify goods using applicable customs tariff codes and ensure correct declarations.
- Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate clearance procedures.
- Ensure adherence to customs laws, regulations, and all import/export restrictions.
- Remain informed of changes in customs regulations and proactively communicate updates to all relevant parties.
- Resolve customs-related issues or disputes that may arise during the clearance process.
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation, ensuring both data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, and finance, as well as external agencies and specialists, to optimize customs clearance operations.
- Manage ACID applications on the Nafiza system along with Cargo-X registration processes.
- Oversee and follow up on all government transactions for the department with external entities, including customs authorities, suppliers, exporters, and importers.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports outlining the activities and achievements of the customs clearance department, including shipment status and coordination with freight forwarders and shipping lines.
- Administer and comply with all Customs Authority requirements related to exemptions, ensuring proper collection, organization, registration, and archiving of all clearance forms and invoices.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the timely completion of all customs certificate terminations.
- Adhere to reporting protocols for performance metrics, fees, and other reports required by management.
- Manage settlements and payments with customs clearance agencies.
- Calculate and select optimal logistics routes to minimize costs, and process applicable customs duties, taxes, and fees.
- Oversee tracking of goods throughout all stages of the freight process, ensuring end-to-end visibility.
- Cooperate efficiently with customs brokers, including calculating customs charges and preparing clearance documentation packages.
- Engage promptly with certification bodies and other counterparties, sourcing permit-issuing authorities as needed.
- Forecast and monitor transportation and customs trends, including legislative analysis pertinent to customs clearance and logistics.
