Job Description

Monitoring and Auditing:

  • Audit production areas to identify unsafe behaviors and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Review staff compliance with health and safety policies, recommending recognition or disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of industrial control mechanisms and safety measures.
  • Monitor and collect safety indicators, accident, and injury reports from all company sites and departments.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Management:

  • Conduct risk assessments across all operational activities to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases to determine root causes and preventive measures.
  • Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions taken after safety incidents.

Equipment and Process Safety:

  • Inspect production equipment, facilities, and processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Order repairs for unsafe or damaged machinery and equipment.
  • Review technical plans and specifications for new equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements.
  • Ensure that buildings and products comply with health and safety regulations, especially following inspection-driven changes.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Create detailed analytical reports on safety data and incident investigations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, corrective actions, and compliance levels.

Training and Education:

  • Deliver training sessions and presentations to staff on safety principles and procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay informed about current health and safety protocols and techniques.
  • Review and recommend improvements to employee safety programs.

Planning and Improvement:

  • Develop and implement safety plans with suggested improvements to infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to promote consistency in safety standards across the organization.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Liaise with law enforcement, investigators, and regulatory bodies during and after serious accidents.
  • Interview employees and employers to gather information about workplace conditions and incidents.
  • Communicate regularly with company safety representatives to ensure data collection and compliance monitoring.
  • Support all departments in health and safety matters, ensuring cohesive implementation of safety policies.

Project Support:

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by Project Management to meet evolving business needs.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,  Science,or a related field.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent health and safety certification
  • Additional certifications in risk assessment, incident investigation, or industrial hygiene are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a Health, Safety
  • Proven experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations.
  • Familiarity with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage emergency or crisis situations effectively.
