Job Description
Breakdown & Repair Management
- Lead the response to all fleet breakdowns and ensure timely diagnosis and repair.
- Monitor real-time incident reporting and coordinate recovery and repair logistics.
- Ensure root cause analysis is conducted for recurrent or critical breakdowns.
Workshop Leadership
- Supervise and manage daily operations of the central workshop.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Allocate tasks and shift schedules to ensure efficient workflow and technician productivity.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence to manufacturer and company standards.
- Coordinate major repairs, engine overhauls, and vehicle refurbishments.
- Monitor the use and condition of tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop assets.
Reporting & KPIs
- Assure achieving targeted key performance indicators (KPIs) such as vehicle uptime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and maintenance cost per km.
- Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses, and monthly breakdown performance dashboards.
- Use fleet maintenance software or CMMS to log and track work orders and fleet availability.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce workshop safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to close findings and technical gaps.
Vendor & Parts Coordination
- Collaborate with the spare parts team to ensure availability of required components.
- Review and verify quality of outsourced repairs or specialized services when applicable.
- Contribute to vendor evaluations related to outsourced technical services or parts suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in fleet maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline vehicles, including heavy-duty and light-duty types.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools, maintenance systems, and workshop best practices.
- Experience with fleet management or CMMS software is a plus.
