Job Description
- Design and Documentation:
- Develop detailed design drawings, fabrication plans, and shop drawings for sheet metal components using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Convert design sketches into precise technical drawings for manufacturing.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and provide material take-offs for sheet metal projects.
- Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, technical standards, and industry regulations.
Technical Coordination: - Collaborate with the design, production, and quality control teams to ensure accurate implementation of sheet metal designs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the production team during fabrication.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely acquisition of necessary materials and components.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to resolve any design or manufacturing issues.
Quality and Compliance: - Review designs and drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and company policies, including ISO and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections and tests on prototypes and products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Project Management: - Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of sheet metal projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Track project progress and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in project review meetings and contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts.
Continuous Improvement: - Identify opportunities to improve design, manufacturing, and project management processes.
- Recommend ways to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in the technical office.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as a Technical Office Engineer in the sheet metal industry or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CypCut etc.).
- Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes (bending, cutting, punching, welding, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in sheet metal design.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
