Job DescriptionProject Director (Design Management)Dubai, UAEParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Director to join our team! In this role you will get to manage large infrastructure projects under the supervision of senior management and interacting directly with some of our key clients in the region.What You Will Be DoingLead and manage design teams in delivering outstanding projects for our clients which will involve planning the project and managing its executionRepresent Parsons in front of the client and other key stakeholdersAdminister Parsons contract with the client as well as contracts with subconsultant and contractorsAct as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors. Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with client. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients. Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for referencePlan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned projectAssign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengthsProvide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if requiredMobilize company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality workDiscuss the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managersCollaborate with the office facilities staff to address project space requirementsWork with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a projectEnsure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plansWork with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of workAdvise the client and company management of any such changes. The Project Director is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders.Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processesMonitor and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or scheduleEstablish weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action itemsWhat Required Skills You Will BringBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable universityMinimum 20 years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience in design phaseWide and diverse experience in corridor development such as new expressway, widening roads and new interchange designKnowledge of constructability issue for such projects in urban environment requiredGreat communication and presentation skillsSignificant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnelDirecting work involving complex technical situationsThorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are requiredMust also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignmentsMinimum Clearance Required To StartNot Applicable/NoneParsons is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
