Job Description
Data Entry
Accurately input, update, and maintain data in Tally ERP and other software systems.
Enter financial transactions, invoices, receipts, and other data into the appropriate records or databases.
Verify and cross-check entered data for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized records of data entered and ensure they are easily accessible for review and audit purposes.
Tally Software Usage
Process transactions using Tally software, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Generate and review financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and trial balances using Tally.
Ensure that all entries are compliant with company policies and accounting standards.
Record Keeping and Documentation
Maintain an organized filing system for digital and physical copies of financial records.
Assist with the preparation and filing of financial documents and reports.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive financial data.
Reporting and Reconciliation
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Reconcile accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
Support the finance team during audits by providing necessary data and reports.
Administrative Support
Perform other office tasks such as handling invoices, correspondence, and data management requests.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing reports for senior management.
Communication
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Inventory) to ensure accurate financial data entry.
Respond to internal or external queries regarding financial data and records in a timely manner.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Tally certification or equivalent training is an advantage.
Experience
Proven experience in data entry, accounting, or using Tally ERP software.
Previous experience in administrative or clerical roles is beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in using Tally ERP software for data entry and financial record management.
Strong typing and data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (for creating spreadsheets and handling data).
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certifications
Tally ERP certification (preferred).
Knowledge of GST, VAT, and other tax regulations (preferred).
Working Conditions
The role is primarily office-based with standard working hours (9 AM - 6 PM).
May require occasional overtime during peak periods or when preparing for audits or closing the books.
