The VacancyAn opportunity has arisen for a highly disciplined and experienced environmental consultant to join our office in Riyadh to help deliver high-level consultancy services.The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:Project manage and author large scale environmental, social and health impact assessments (ESHIA) and strategic environmental assessments (SEA), and oversee environmental monitoring and baseline survey projects for major infrastructure, energy, and industrial clients in principally the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), but in addition also inputting to such work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq, and the wider regionSupport the environment team by providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff as and when requiredProvide technical leadership, co-ordination, technical review and direction on projectsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory authoritiesManage project financial performance and meeting profit targetsPrepare and manage multi-disciplinary tenders and seek opportunities for new workConsult with stakeholders and effectively manage sub-consultantsWillingness to travel within the region, including travel to UAE and Iraq for short missions.Desired experience:BSc degree level qualified in a relevant environmental discipline or engineering discipline (preferably chemical/environmental engineers)Preference for a MSc degree in environmental management, environmental technology, ESHIA, environmental engineering or related environmental or engineering subjectMembership of a relevant professional body (i.e., IEMA or equivalent) – chartered or working towards chartered statusOver 8 years previous experience working in environmental consulting including providing permitting support, environmental monitoring, environmental management planning, compliance audits, modelling and site assessments for energy, industrial and infrastructure clientsExperience of working in an international consultancySaudi Arabia and/or wider Middle East experienceThorough understanding of the ESHIA process, international environmental and social legislation, guidelines and standards (e.g., IFC, WB EHS, EP4), and international project financing mechanisms and implicationsSpecialist knowledge in a technical discipline, for example marine environment or waste managementExperience in chairing or scribing environmental impact identification (ENVID) workshops for energy, industrial and infrastructure projectsExperience in providing technical alternatives and solutions to technical clarifications and design solutions to clients in e.g. energy, industry, or planning sector settingsExperience in negotiating with regulators to achieve the best environmental outcome for the clientExcellent attention to detail with written deliverables: significant proofing, editing and report collation experience; ability to train and mentor colleagues to achieve excellent attention to detailExcellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills; knowledge of Arabic is a bonus but not essentialExperience of working on multiple projects, simultaneouslyRobust project management, time management and financial management skillsProactive networkerFull driving licenseAbout UsRSK Environmental Consulting Company operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is recognised by the National Center for Environmental Compliance for environmental licensing services.
