They help to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget. Alternative job titles for a quantity surveyor include ‘cost consultant’, and ‘cost engineer’.Responsibilities: Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.prepare and analyze project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labor, and time.Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.Allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of the construction.Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.Advise on a procurement strategy.Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.Value completed work, oversee bills, and arrange paymentsUnderstand the implications of health and safety regulations.Traveling from the office to various sites as required.Requirements:Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline.Fluent in English language and Arabic.Skills:Must have strong work ethics.Must be well organized and a self-starter.Must be able to follow standard filing procedure.Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.Possess strong organizational and time management skills.Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
