Position Overview
Rosewood AMAALA, part of the ultra-luxury Red Sea Global destination, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join our pre-opening leadership team.
This role will support the Director of Engineering in overseeing all aspects of engineering operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, sustainability, and guest comfort.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing preventive maintenance systems, managing technical teams, and delivering seamless facilities support in line with Rosewood’s standards of rare hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Engineering in managing all engineering and maintenance operations across the property, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and technical installations.
Lead and supervise engineering teams, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and local regulations.
Support the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
Oversee energy conservation, sustainability initiatives, and environmental compliance to align with Rosewood and Red Sea Global goals.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and external agencies during pre-opening, handover, and operational phases.
Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Train, mentor, and develop engineering associates, building a high-performance culture that fosters accountability and growth.
Act as acting Director of Engineering in their absence.
Play a key role in pre-opening technical readiness, including snagging, systems testing, and handover documentation

Job Requirements
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within luxury hotels or resorts.
Strong technical expertise in MEP systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and sustainability practices.
Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style.
Pre-opening experience in luxury hospitality will be a strong advantage.
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
