Job Description
Job Summary: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Procurement Engineer position . This includes managing and coordinating procurement activities, evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the smooth execution of procurement processes in alignment with company objectives and construction project timelines. The Procurement Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the Procurement Engineer while ensuring all procurement activities follow established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Procurement Engineer in sourcing materials, managing suppliers, and handling RFQs, purchase orders, and contracts.
- Lead the procurement team to ensure all materials and services required for construction projects are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.
- Oversee the process of evaluating suppliers and managing supplier relationships to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered.
- Review and approve purchase orders, supplier contracts, and other procurement documents to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive deals while ensuring high standards of quality.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition through to delivery, including assessing needs, selecting suppliers, conducting negotiations, and finalizing contracts.
- Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and other departments to understand material requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Analyze procurement data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports for senior management.
- Ensure the Procurement Engineer maintains accurate documentation for all procurement activities.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance management to the Procurement Engineer to foster a high-performing team.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, ideally within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing procurement functions, including supplier evaluation, contract management, and negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry processes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
