Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for steel, fasteners, coatings, and other raw materials.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in procured materials.

2. Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Negotiate contracts and payment terms with suppliers.

3. Inventory Coordination:

  • Collaborate with inventory and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and project pipelines.

4. Cost Management:

  • Track procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with budgetary constraints.

5. Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including POs, invoices, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.

6. Problem Resolution:

  • Address delivery delays, quality issues, or discrepancies in orders.

Proactively resolve supply chain disruptions to avoid production delays

Job Requirements

1. Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Procurement (e.g., CIPS or CPSM) is a plus.

2. Experience:

  • 2-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the steel or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with sourcing steel, coatings, and related materials.

3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of steel grades, specifications, and market trends.

4. Soft Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

5. Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of local and international 
  • Suppliers in the steel industry.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance and import/export documentation is an advantage.
