Job Description
Job Purpose:
A library manager is responsible for overseeing the general operations of the library also acquiring, organizing, managing and distributing the library resources, and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Formulating the library policy and maintaining appropriate regulations for using all services
- Leading, Managing and deploying the staff of the library in relation to the delivery of effectively managed services.
- Selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources
- liaising with Academic staff, Administrative staff , Students and Suppliers
- Managing the department budget and resources
- promoting the library's resources to users
- Identifying the needed library systems and developing these systems.
- Liaising with the libraries in Egypt and abroad widening information resources provision to EUI.
Job Requirements
Person Specifications:
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Library, master’s degree is preferred
Professional Experience:
- 12 to 15 years of experience in the same field with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial level
- Previous experience in Educational field.
Other qualifications:
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with the use of databases.
- Team working and management skills
- Assessment of resources and library users' needs
- Presentation and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
