Job Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, procedures, and standards specifically tailored to the high-risk environment of heavy industry.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant local, national, and international HSE legislation, regulations, and permits.
- Develop and deliver specialized and in-depth HSE training programs for all personnel, including contractors, focusing on high-hazard awareness, safe work practices, and emergency response in a heavy industrial setting.
- Manage and lead a team of HSE engineers / HSE technicians , providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring effective implementation of HSE programs.
- Plan, conduct, and lead regular and rigorous HSE audits and inspections of all work areas and equipment to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify critical non-conformities.
- Lead and direct thorough investigations of all incidents, accidents, and near misses, employing advanced root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurrence in a high-risk environment.
- Develop and implement effective emergency preparedness and response plans for a wide range of potential incidents, including fires, explosions, chemical spills, and major equipment failures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering / science only .
Experience: Minimum of more than 10 years of progressive and demonstrable experience in HSE management within a heavy industrial sector (e.g., mining, oil & gas, metals processing, power generation, heavy manufacturing, home appliances ).
Experience in managing significant HSE risks is essential.
Certifications: Advanced professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional),ASP associated safety professional , NEBOSH diploma preferred .
NEBOSH IGC – NIOSH – OSHA general industry – Risk management .
Skills:
Expert knowledge of local, national, and international HSE legislation, regulations, and best practices relevant to heavy industry.
Advanced understanding of risk management methodologies, including HAZID, HAZOP, and fault tree analysis, applied to high-hazard environments.
Proficiency in HSE management software and data analysis tools.
