Job Description: Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Export Manager
Position Overview: The Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Export Manager is responsible for overseeing the export operations of fresh produce to international markets. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, manages logistics, and fosters relationships with clients, suppliers, and distributors to optimize sales. The Export Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality, negotiating contracts, and expanding the company's market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research & Strategy:
Analyze international market trends for fresh fruits and vegetables.
Identify potential new markets and opportunities for product diversification.
Develop and implement export strategies to expand the company’s global reach.
2. Sales & Client Management:
Build and maintain relationships with international clients, suppliers, and distributors.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term partnerships.
Manage customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure satisfaction and retention.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
Coordinate the logistics of shipping fresh produce, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and transport companies.
Monitor cold chain logistics to maintain product freshness and quality throughout the shipping process.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with international trade laws, import/export regulations, and documentation requirements.
Stay up to date with phytosanitary regulations, tariffs, and export restrictions for different regions.
Prepare and submit necessary export documentation, such as certificates of origin, customs declarations, and quality certifications.
5. Quality Control & Assurance:
Oversee the quality inspection process to ensure that exported fruits and vegetables meet international standards.
Work closely with the production team to address any quality concerns before shipment.
Ensure packaging meets international standards and is optimized for transport and shelf life.
6. Financial Management:
Monitor export-related financial transactions, including payment terms, invoicing, and currency fluctuations.
Work with the finance department to manage export costs, including shipping, tariffs, and taxes.
Develop budgets and forecasts for the export division.
7. Team Collaboration & Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of export coordinators or logistics staff.
Collaborate with the procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless export operations.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members involved in export activities.
Working Conditions:
The role may involve travel to meet clients, attend trade shows, and oversee international logistics operations.
Working hours can be flexible to accommodate different time zones.

Job Requirements
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or related fields.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in export management, particularly in fresh produce or perishable goods.
Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with international trade laws, export documentation, and customs regulations.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Attention to Detail: Ability to manage logistics and ensure product quality during transport.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with international clients and partners.
Languages: Fluency in English and proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Experience with ERP systems, export documentation software, and MS Office Suite.
