Job Summary:
As a Shared Services Manager acting as the General Manager (GM), you will oversee the operations and strategic management of shared services, ensuring the efficient delivery of essential support functions across various business units. You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, implementing process improvements, optimizing resource allocation, and driving business performance. The role will involve working closely with senior leadership to align shared services initiatives with the overall business strategy while ensuring a seamless operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Act as the interim General Manager, overseeing all business functions within the country.
- Provide leadership and direction for shared services across various departments, ensuring alignment with the country’s strategic goals.
- Develop and execute the strategy for shared services, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
Operational Management:
- Supervise the delivery of shared services in key functional areas such as finance, HR, IT, legal, procurement, and customer service.
- Ensure continuous improvement and innovation in shared services processes to increase operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Ensure that resources are allocated effectively across teams, optimizing productivity and skill development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between shared services and other departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any escalated issues or strategic initiatives that impact the shared services function.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, keeping them informed on progress, challenges, and successes within the shared services operations.
- Advising the Board of Directors.
Change Management & Process Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in shared services processes, leveraging industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Lead change management efforts as needed to implement new systems, processes, or organizational structures.
- Ensure the adoption of new tools and technology to enhance service delivery and productivity.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all shared services functions are compliant with local regulations, company policies, and global standards.
- Identify potential risks within shared services operations and implement mitigation strategies to reduce risks.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in management roles, including at least 5 years in shared services or operations leadership.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, preferably in a global or multi-country environment.
- Strong understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, and Customer Service.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changes quickly.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management in the local market.
- Fluency in English is required.
Additional Skills (desirable):
- Experience in leading change management and business transformation projects.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and shared services technologies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
