Job Description

Job purpose :- 

The Food & Beverage Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring quality food and beverage products for the organization while managing supplier relationships. The role involves evaluating suppliers, analyzing pricing, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining inventory levels to meet business requirements while optimizing cost-effectiveness and quality standards

Duties and responsibilities :-

  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to ensure they meet the organization’s standards in quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best possible value.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to meet operational demands without overstocking.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure the availability of high-demand products.
  • Place and monitor purchase orders for food, beverage, and other essential supplies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and promptly resolve any delivery discrepancies or quality issues.
  • Continuously evaluate purchasing costs and seek ways to improve cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Conduct regular market research to remain updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and alternative sourcing options.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all products meet established safety and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers swiftly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and vendor contracts.
  • Generate regular reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role within the food & beverage industry.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth understanding of the food and beverage industry, including sourcing trends, seasonal price fluctuations, and regulatory requirements.
