Job Description
- Maintenance Management:
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Prepares Capex budgets related to major equipment overhauls and reviews/approves corresponding Purchase Requestions/Orders.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and consumables to prevent operational delays and create/update warehouse stock Min/Max levels.
- If need be, create/update existing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the company’s and OEM standards.
- Assess the competency of mechanics and assistant mechanics/helpers.
- Make periodic rig visits to evaluate personnel and equipment performances and make recommendations for improvement.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance and overhauling activities including but not limited to:
- Drilling Equipment: Top drives, drawworks, rotary tables, crown blocks, traveling blocks, mud pumps, and deadline anchors, BOP hoists, HPUs, automated catwalks; agitators, air winches, hydraulic winches, centrifugal pumps, transfer pumps, catheads, raising and tilt cylinders...etc.
- Diesel Engines: Caterpillar or equivalent engines (3512 A and B, C18, C15, C13, 3406, 3412...etc.), tower lights, welding machines, forklifts & cranes engines.
- Overhauling and Recertifications:
- Plan and manage in a timely manner the overhauling of all rigs’ equipment in compliance with OEM and industry standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the recertification process for drilling equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM recommendations, client company’s contract requirements, API, and any other regulatory requirements
- Work with OEMs and third-party inspection and certification agencies to guarantee equipment integrity and operational readiness.
- Maintain detailed documentation of overhauls, inspections, and recertification in Maximo for audit purposes.
Job Requirements
- Experience 10 years in mechanical maintenance and recertification of drilling rig equipment with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- Diploma with extensive relevant experience may also be considered
