Head of Business Development position is a senior post managing one of the most strategic aspects of doing business in Egypt, Candidate must have passion for field work, customer advocacy, selling, analytical & management skills, great attention to detail, ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task, and a proven record of delivering on KPIs. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mind set with a passion for team management, trade, field work, a high level of flexibility and commitment.


  • Manage a big team of 3 managerial levels to deliver yearly objectives and KPIs
  • Manage Market Place Sellers to build their business on Souq.com starting from acquiring selection, content creation, inventory management, to orders fulfillment.
  • Analyze customer data and make recommendations to maximize returns in line with opportunities & KPIs.
  • Achieve growth targets for both quantity and quality of selection, seller performance and sales.
  • Understand the e-commerce industry and competitive environment including knowledge of competitive product offerings & margins.
  • Engage with sellers to understand their needs and fit with Souq.com services product set.
  • Assist internal partners to drive change, remove roadblocks and accomplish daily.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross- functional teams (Content, Marketing, Order Management, and Warehouse) to facilitate seller/account’s growth.
Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in FMCG, retail, operations, product or program management, and/or business management/consulting with a proven record of accomplishment in team management, negotiations and delivering results.


  • 2+ years of relevant experience in E-commerce or similar industries.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, or other analytical/business intelligence tools.
  • Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating.
  • Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes.
  • A willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done.
