Job Description
Tendering:
- Review Tender documents on receipt to ensure completeness.
- Organize and take part in bid initiation & review meetings.
- Ensure that clarifications are raised well in time to get better clarity on bid submission.
- Lead in-house coordination for bid preparation including follow-up, and collection of input from various sub-contractors or 3rd parties.
- Ensure that bid submissions fully comply with all necessary specifications.
- Compile the final bid package in compliance with all processes, procedures, and principals.
- Ensure timely delivery of the bid documents.
- Co-ordinate & follow-up to ensure post bid clarifications are addressed.
Estimation:
- Develop a clear understanding of work scope & best estimation practices with respect to execution of stone work projects.
- Verify detailed quantity take-offs from bid documentation.
- Ensure the estimate is built up methodically and in sufficient detail and is in accordance with project specifications and market guidelines.
- Ensure the indirect cost are correctly prepared and priced.
- Identify pricing risks and include proper contingencies.
Subcontractors:
- Ensure completeness of subcontract enquiry packages and availability of subcontractor offers well in time.
- Ensure subcontractor responses are complete & tabulated accurately on a bid evaluation spreadsheet.
- Manage subcontractor relations and coordinate tendering activities.
Project Management:
- Prepare / Review the preparation of the construction schedules, providing man-hours and equipment requirement for each activity.
- Assist management in the identification, evaluation and ranking of risks as well as developing a strategy to manage and mitigate the risks to Company.
- Conduct market research of estimates compiled by competitors.
- Maintain Lessons Learnt database from existing projects.
- Assist management in other various initiatives on an ad hoc basis.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- 1-3 years of experience in cost estimation and tendering.
- Solid understanding of project life cycle and contraction activities, preferably with exposure to stone works.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Proficient in MS office applications especially excel.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficient in project scheduling, resource levelling, and activity analysis.
- Ability to work independently and lead project deliverables through to completion.
- Detail oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
