Job Description

Position Summary:

  • This position reports directly to the Employability manager, responsible for screening, interviewing and managing the career readiness classroom to enhance job readiness and job opportunities for trainees and job seekers.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct follow up meetings and follow up calls.
  • Provides job seekers / trainees with basic direction, instruction, and assistance in career readiness class
  • Develops and prepares lessons; recommends curricula changes and other supplemental materials.
  • Motivates and advices job seekers / trainees in areas of behavior, training, personal issues.
  • Provides aptitude and interest assessments for students, to assist them in choosing an appropriate career pathway.
  • Prepare reports on job seekers / trainees and activities as required
  • Maintains progress and attendance reports.
  • Maintains records, cleanliness, and classroom discipline.
  • Assists in developing community linkages and volunteers to enhance trainees career opportunities.
  • Assists the manager to oversee trainee employability assessments and career readiness, including interviewing, training progress and evaluation processes.
  • Assists in reviewing and auditing all placements to ensure the Center is meeting placement monthly goal with compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to trainees. Prepare and submit related reports.
  • Assists in tracking the job seeker after placement for 6 months to ensure their stability in their jobs
  • Assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive career readiness program for all incoming job seekers and trainees.
  • Assists in maintaining current information on the Center’s contacts (marketing database) and participation in community activities; prepare related reports, to effectively assist in the Center’s outreach and job development efforts.
  • Assists in ensuring all trainees’ prior academic achievement, skill level needs, and interests are assessed so that appropriate individualized career development services may be provided.
  • Supports and promotes the Center’s safety policy.
  • Participates in trainees and the Center’s activities.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience
  • Experience with youth employment especially blue collars
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and computer (Word and excel)
    proficiency required.
  • Experience in industrial and/or tourism is preferable
  • Soft skills (Commitment, team building and time management)
