Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Content Officer is responsible for shaping and driving forward the digital presence and web-based content in an engaging manner, ensuring that the brand tone of voice, and messaging is maintained to produce high quality content.
The Content Officer is also responsible for liaising with various teams to gather an understanding of the requirements to deliver its solution to completion. They help develop and refine web pages, provide the brand, marketing, and operations teams with content support functions that align with our brands’ identity across all channels.
The Content Officer will partner with various business leads (brand teams, translation, design, trading, SEO, IT, testing, project management, and operations) to deliver the division’s key strategies.
This Role:
•Works closely with the Content Manager to deliver the agreed strategy.
•Is responsible for end to end e-commerce duties like monitoring and maintaining product life cycles on our sites by working closely with the brand team.
•Conducts regular brand site scans to identify elements in need of amendment.
•Supports both the Project Management and IT teams with new market rollouts.
•Identifies opportunities to improve the quality of product content to maximize the relevance and benefit of the customer’s journey onsite.
•Is responsible for the reporting of product range content and visibility status to regional brand and online teams.
•Verifies and ensures the accuracy of all product content within relevant e-commerce systems, including key data fields, attributes, product descriptions, and images to meet brand guidelines.
•Ensures product and onsite content follows SEO best practices through constant communication with the central e-commerce SEO team.
•Works with other department teams to maximize the department’s performance and output.
•Liaises with regional brand teams to prioritize product content requirements in order to support host brand strategy and timelines.
•Aligns with the translation team to ensure product content is effectively delivered and available on all relevant markets.
•Creates and manages email and SMS templates to optimize the customer’s journey and increase conversion rates.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Content:
•Ensuring content accuracy and engagement across all sites.
•Creating and refining new/existing static pages via the Drupal platform (e.g Terms and Conditions Pages).
•Updating necessary onsite content for promotional activities as instructed by other stakeholders such as order SLA and delivery threshold services.
Product Content:
•Ensuring new product content is translated and enriched on a weekly basis.
•Identifying content errors and resolving them.
•Managing product range content delivery along with reporting the status brand and online teams.
•Launching new season collections to agreed scheduled timelines.
Emails & SMS:
•Creating external channels of communications with customers via email and SMS templates.
•Tailoring the templates to line up with specific market/brand needs and requirements.
•Running constant activities and tests with external teams that ensure our communication flow is simplified and is customer friendly.
•Aligning with the Group Customer Service team to ensure that the flow of communication is effective and meets the customer’s needs.
Creative Content:
•Generating SEO pieces to maintain the brand’s tone of voice and meeting the needs of the customers.
•Developing and promoting Alshaya’s eCommerce brands, service, or product through different forms of digital content.
•Creating content that motivates, inspires, educates, informs, sells, and simply, provides information, across our sites.
•Liaising with the central e-commerce SEO team to ensure that focus keywords are driving traffic to our sites.
New Projects & Features:
•Working on all content related activities, such as:
o Payment methods: Postpay, Tabby, Fawry
o Same Day Delivery
o eGift Cards
Online Returns:
•Launching and managing sites for newly added brands to Alshaya’s roster.
•Cloning sites from pre-existing sites in new regional markets.
Weekly Tasks & Activities:
•Product batch enrichment.
•Site scans and addressing error reports.
•Creating SEO content.
•Addressing issues raised by external teams.
Job Requirements
Experience/Competencies Requires:
Key Skills:
•At least two years’ experience in digital communications writing and editing.
•Meeting deadlines and dealing with conflicting priorities in a timely manner.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English and Arabic.
•Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to show complex issues in an engaging and visual way.
•Ability to be involved in collaborative efforts with other members of the team.
•Resilience and great attention to detail.
•Identify and organize resources needed to accomplish tasks.
•Always maintain a professional approach.
•Microsoft Office – Excel skills.
Preferred Skills:
•Product information management platforms experience (e.g PIMCore and Magento).
•Relevant degree or professional qualification.
•Previous e-Commerce experience.
•SEO and blog writing.
•HTML coding (advantageous).
•Calm under pressure.
•Creative thinking.
