Job Description
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies in alignment with hospital needs and budget.
- Ensure the timely procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumables, and general supplies.
- Identify, assess, and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
- Coordinate with various departments (pharmacy, nursing, maintenance, finance, etc.) to forecast and fulfil supply needs.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Review and approve purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and hospital-specific regulations in purchasing processes.
- Track supplier performance (quality, delivery times, service) and take corrective actions when needed.
- Prepare reports and purchasing metrics for senior management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or B.Pharm) – mandatory.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is essential.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Hospital Management
- ERP or inventory system training
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- Analytical thinking and decision-making
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent supply needs
- Fluency in Arabic – required
- Good proficiency in English – written and spoken
