- Position Summary
- The Inventory Controller & Material Specialist is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the company’s inventory and material resources. This role ensures accurate stock levels, timely availability of materials, and efficient handling of logistics to support operational and project requirements. The position plays a key role in cost control, supply chain efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
- Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records across warehouses and storage locations.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment as required.
- Perform regular cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation with system records.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and storage standards.
- Material Management
- Oversee material receiving, storage, and issuance processes.
- Prepare and verify material requests, issue vouchers, and transfer notes.
- Classify, code, and tag materials for proper identification and tracking.
- Monitor shelf life, expiry dates, and condition of stored materials.
- Coordinate material returns and disposal of obsolete/expired stock.
- Planning & Coordination
- Support procurement by providing accurate demand forecasts and inventory reports.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
- Work closely with suppliers, logistics, and customs teams for smooth material flow.
- Participate in material requirement planning (MRP) to minimize shortages and excess stock.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage and optimize inventory in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across departments.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate inventory audits and reconciliations.
- Experience developing and implementing inventory control procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office setting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
