Job Summary:
The International Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and products from global suppliers. This role ensures cost-effective and timely procurement while maintaining quality and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with international suppliers and vendors.
- Conduct market research to source cost-effective and high-quality products.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with global suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure timely procurement of direct and indirect material to support business operations.
- Manage international purchasing agreements and mitigate risks related to currency fluctuations, tariffs, and trade regulations.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor geopolitical and economic conditions affecting global supply chains.
- Assess risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipping, customs clearance, and delivery schedules.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
- Analyze procurement data and develop cost-reduction strategies.
- Monitor budgets and ensure procurement activities align with financial goals.
- Prepare reports on purchasing trends, savings, and supplier performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure quality standards.
- Implement corrective actions for non-compliant suppliers.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure material compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in international procurement, sourcing, or supply chain.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of international trade laws, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
