job Summary
The Technical Office Engineer will be part of the Engineering Sector at Misr El-Kheir Foundation. The role focuses on supporting the planning, review, and follow-up of construction projects across different governorates. Responsibilities include reviewing project documentation and shop drawings, preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates, analyzing interim payment certificates, and coordinating with technical teams to ensure accurate execution of works in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of the Engineering Sector and the Technical Office in reviewing construction projects executed by the foundation through preparing visit plans and verifying executed works against technical specifications and drawings.
- Review and analyze payment certificates to ensure alignment with actual executed works.
- Study project contract documents (time schedules, design drawings, BOQ, specifications, etc.) and highlight discrepancies when found.
- Review project drawings and specifications, prepare shop drawings, and follow up on required modifications.
- Conduct quantity surveying and prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and contracts.
- Prepare and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs) related to unclear, missing, or conflicting items during project execution.
- Review and monitor contract variations, change orders, saving and exceeding memorandums, and price deviation claims.
- Contribute to developing and updating the Technical Office procedures and systems for project follow-up.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and technical departments to ensure compliance with required specifications and codes.
- Issue material receiving reports (MRRs) for delivered materials and verify conformity with specifications.
- Supervise concrete works in the presence of the engineer or consultant, including performing slump tests and preparing cube samples for laboratory testing.
- Prepare periodic technical and financial reports and provide recommendations to enhance project performance and resolve issues effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of proven experience in Technical Office or construction supervision.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and contract review.
- Familiarity with the Egyptian Code and international building standards.
- Proficiency in engineering and design software (AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
