As a Server Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's computer servers. Your primary focus will be ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of the server infrastructure. You will collaborate with other IT professionals to implement and optimize server-related solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software components.
- Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect server systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for maximum efficiency.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in case of server failures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, including network administrators, system analysts, and support teams, to ensure seamless integration of server systems.
- Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute server upgrades, apply patches, and ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest software and security updates.
- User Support: Provide technical support to end-users and resolve server-related issues in a timely manner.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize the impact of unexpected events on server infrastructure.
- Capacity Planning: Evaluate server capacity, anticipate future needs, and recommend necessary upgrades or expansions.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Server Administrator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience in implementing and managing security measures for servers.
- Proficiency in server hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+)
