Job Description
Welding Inspection:
- Perform visual inspection (VT) on all welds during and after welding.
- Ensure welding processes follow approved WPS and PQR.
- Check welding machines and equipment for proper setup and usage.
Quality Control :
- Record all observations and defects in detailed inspection reports.Reject any non-conforming welds and request rework as needed.
- Verify that rework or repairs have been carried out correctly.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare daily welding inspection reports.
- Maintain welder qualification records and welding logs.
- Assist in preparing project quality documentation files.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
- Coordinate NDT (e.g., PT, RT) with certified personnel when required.
- Review and interpret test results in coordination with the welding engineer or quality manager.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement activities and defect reduction efforts.
- Provide technical recommendations to solve recurring welding issues.
Job Requirements
- Education: Technical Diploma with strong experience.
- Experience:
- 3 to 5 years in welding inspection in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Good knowledge of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW).
- Experience reading technical drawings and understanding WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record).
- Preferred Certifications:
- NDT Level II in VT / PT / RT is an advantage.
- Skills:
- High attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
