Job Description
- Supervise and manage the cutting department team, including supervisors, cutters, and helpers.
- Plan daily cutting schedules based on production requirements and order priorities.
- Ensure optimal fabric utilization through marker planning and minimize wastage.
- Oversee fabric inspection, spreading, layering, and cutting processes.
- Monitor machinery performance (cutting machines, spreading machines, band knives, etc.) and coordinate with maintenance for upkeep.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy in cut panels.
- Maintain compliance with buyer standards, safety protocols, and internal procedures.
- Train and develop staff to enhance technical skills and efficiency.
- Collaborate with planning, IE, sewing, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Technology, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in garment cutting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or section head role.
- Strong knowledge of marker efficiency, fabric consumption, and cutting room processes.
- Hands-on experience with automated cutting systems (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
