Job Description
- Prepare and review detailed mechanical shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Prepare project quantities through quantity surveying if they are not available in the project documents.
- Able to handle the material and service pricing process properly.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other technical office staff to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall project plans.
- Analyze project contracts, specifications, and tender documents to extract and clarify mechanical requirements.
- Review project material and purchase orders.
- Provide technical support and solutions to site teams during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular reports, and update documentation to reflect changes and modifications.
- Ensure all mechanical designs adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a technical office role within the construction industry.
- Proven ability to prepare and review mechanical shop drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
- Experience with material take-offs, BOQ preparation, and procurement support.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local and international mechanical codes and standards.
