Job Description
- Develop and execute the company’s overall supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.
- Manage and optimize the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to balance demand and supply.
- Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and implement improvements.
- Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain (e.g., geopolitical, supplier reliability, price volatility).
- Lead the strategic sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and logistics services, ensuring security of supply and cost competitiveness.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and negotiate major contracts.
- Monitor global market trends and commodity pricing for key raw materials.
- Oversee all transportation (inbound, and outbound)
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, warehouses, and distributors.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of finished goods to customers globally.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stock-outs or obsolescence.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring safe and efficient storage and handling of chemical products.
- Implement and maintain strong cycle count and physical inventory processes.
- Collaborate closely with the Production Manager to create realistic production schedules that meet customer demand while maximizing plant efficiency.
- Manage the flow of materials to support the production schedule without interruption.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals (planners, buyers, logistics coordinators).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration.
- Ensure all supply chain activities strictly adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations (OSHA, EPA, REACH, etc.).
- Maintain accurate documentation for safety data sheets (SDS), shipping documents, and customs declarations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (CSCP, CPSM, CPIM) is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience within the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or other process manufacturing industries is REQUIRED.
- Deep expertise in managing the logistics of hazardous materials and deep knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent understanding of S&OP, inventory control principles, and lean methodologies.
