Lab Manager - Middle East

We are a leading Recruitment Company based in Colombo Sri Lanka and we are in search for a Lab Manager for one of the leading Food Manufacturering company in the Middle East.Please refer to the below details. Designation - Lab ManagerLocation - Middle EastSalary - Will be USD 4500 per month depending on the candidate's profile. Will be paid in local currency. Visa - Visa will be arranged by the company. Summary of the Job Description: Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory ensuring all testing is completed to schedule and on budget. Ensuring the efficient implementation of staff scheduling and equipment availability to meet departmental KPI targets. Ensure the approved laboratory procedures and test methods are documented and followed by trained staff at all times. Make sure all procedure documents, departmental forms and records are in good order, they are used correctly and updated to schedule. Provide regular reports to business outlining departmental performance as required. Monitor all test results and ensure timely reporting to each relevant department, ensure any out of specification results are investigated as required and any corrective actions closed out in a timely manner. Manage the training requirements of all staff members in the QC department and ensure compliance to the staff proficiency testing programme. Support the R&D and Marketing departments in the development of new products and the re-development of existing products. Work closely with the Production department to ensure all monitoring equipment is correctly calibrated and to schedule. Support the Purchasing department in the approval of new ingredients and packaging, manage meetings between the departments and close out any agreed actions as required. Help prepare the annual budget and recommend capital investments for the department. Plan and implement any changes required in terms of equipment upgrade. Ensure the full commissioning of all new equipment, the training of relevant staff and documented method availability, schedule the maintenance progamme and calibration requirements. Oversee the management of the Laboratory consumables and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet testing requirements and all stock checks are completed to schedule. Manage all designated projects are part of the department business plan, ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged in the process and provided with regular updates on progress. Manage the department lean programme and ensure compliance to the 5S audit requirements. Ensure testing method compliance to all regulatory and customer requirements. Manage the recruitment of staff in the department, post hiring ensure they are trained efficiently so they can work independently. Ensure the department complies with all Health & Safety working practices and Environmental requirements. Share specialist knowledge within the organization. Ensure that all information's and records regarding test results of raw materials and products are kept confidential to the company and are not issued to , made accessible to or discussed with anybody except for relevant authorized personnel. Perform other duties as required. Complying with Health, Safety and Environment regulations and working practices and the State of Kuwait when carrying out dutiesProfessional Background:Five years of supervisory experience in manufacturing are required, preferably within a FMCG environment.Proficient in working with MS office programs.Project management skills with experience would be useful.
